1940

Our press, Bolea Olive Mill (Molino de Olivas de Bolea), is found in Bolea, a small village in the province of Huesca in Northern Spain and was built in the year 1940.

2003

From the beginning and over the course of three generations now we have followed only one philosophy: try to produce the highest quality in our oils. This allowed us in 2003 to tackle an important modernization of the mill, switching out the traditional pressing system for a continued extraction of two phases.

2009

Later, in 2009, continuing to follow our always present goal of striving for the highest quality, we began to plant our own olive trees to control the entire process of the oil extraction to guarantee the quality from the fruit (olive) to bottling.

2010

In the last decade, the benefits of olive oil have been recognized on a global scale. Both within Spain and internationally, the so-called liquid gold, is increasingly present in the gastronomy of many cultures.

In 2016, we put the factory through the latest remodel in its facilities, setting up modern production procedures which have continued to increase the quality levels of our oils. Since we are the small family business we are, we continue to bet on the excellence of what we do best: Extra virgin olive oil.

The Process

The Tree

Like any natural fruit juice, everything begins with the tree: watering, pruning and fertilizing are all key from the start.

The Harvest

To maximize quality, we harvest the olives when they are still green and we immediately transport them to the olive press.

Pressing

When the olives arrive to the press they are transformed into extra virgin olive oil in less than two hours from the time they are harvested. To do so, modern systems are used to press, beat and extract the oil. We always strive for the highest quality.

Storage

The extra virgin olive oil is poured into and stored in stainless steel tanks to maintain intact all its qualities.

The oil is then bottled in small batches by order. Every bottle is filled, labeled and checked with care in an manual process before being shipped to our clients.
